YTG departments of Finance and Highways and Public Works got together to raise funds and food for the Whitehorse Food Bank. They raised almost $1900 and brought in hundreds of pounds of food. This is no easy task in the summer months but they did it! It is with deep appreciation that the Whitehorse Food Bank says thank you!
When the Whitehorse Food Bank put out the call to help restock their shelves help came from many directions. The dedicated Quilters at Bear’s paw also stepped up to the challenge. Even though in the summer many in their membership is away enjoying a Yukon summer, the ones that were left made sure they would also get together to help out the Food Bank. It is in recognition of Bears Paw and all the smaller groups that answered the call…
Big thanks to the YTG Department of Justice including Corrections and the RCMP for teaming up and holding department wide food drives. They were able to collect 1372 lbs of much needed food for the Whitehorse Food Bank.
