A gigantic THANK YOU, going out to Klondike Rib and Salmon!!! Their gracious donations to both our Food Bank, as well as, Sally and Sisters, will help out tremendously. For those that are unsure of Sally & Sisters, it is a free hot lunch program designed as a safe, sober environment open to all women and children. (It’s held Mondays and Friday between 12and 1pm at the Food Bank)
Thanks to the garden beds that are donated and attended by our community members. They provided us with 610 pounds of fresh produce for our clients. It is so wonderful to be able to provide this healthy option to them, So thank you again COMMUNITY GARDENS!!
A HUGE thank you to EMR and everyone who took part in their Book Sale!! They were able to raise over $1300 toward our Food Bank, which is in turn being used to fight hunger in Yukon! So THANKS again EMR!!!

BEERALICIOUS! The Gr8ful Spud partnered with Yukon Brewing Co. bring you a 4 course meal, with all the fixins!! Plus paired with our wonderful locally made beer! Held at the Gr8tful Spud, in the Riverview Hotel: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th, 6:30-??? If you bring $10 worth of food, they will give you $10 off your ticket price! Thank you to the DAYS INN, for their innovative way of giving back! Instead of planting flowers this year, they planted vegetables and donated them to the Food Bank!! They did an amazing job, and got fabulous results, that our clients will enjoy 🙂

Thanks to The Department of Justice, for their donation of school supplies. The supplies will be out for families in need to take as needed from 10-1 on Wednesday September 9th, on Family Distribution Day!! Also, a reminder: FEED THE PEOPLE BBQ, at shipyards from 11am-2pm on Labour Day Monday!!! Donations toward the foodbank will be accepted 😉 Bring your whole family and show your support, or just enjoy a free meal!!! Games, prizes, activities and a bouncy castle for the kiddies!!!
Across Canada, there are approximately 310,460 children who depend on the food bank for some food security. That is equivalent to 6,200 school busses filled with hungry little minds!! We have a School Snack Program, that offers an extra amount of school snacks and juice when supplies are up!!! Every child deserves to eat everyday, too often meals are skipped due to lack of food in their household. #votetoendpoverty
