Last Saturday June 18th, Whitehorse Motors held their annual Round Up event and were kind enough to host a Whitehorse Food Bank BBQ. Loads of people stopped by to check out the great event and support our food bank. We were able to raise over $700 in just 2 hours! A big thanks to Whitehorse Motors for their hospitality and to everyone who came out to support the food bank and enjoy the afternoon with us.
The Whitehorse Churches All City Food Drive was an amazing success. It was the biggest spring food drive yet! Our shelves are looking very full. Our shelving is being worked on during April 13th-15th, so we will be CLOSED! We need to take everything off our shelves, and then put it all back! We have let them get pretty bare; however there is still some work to be done! Hello all fellow Yukon Rondezvous Supporters, THE 2016 RONDEZVOUS activities include a ‘Steam Punk‘ themed dance on February 26th, from 8pm-2am. They are looking for a charity, such as us, to host the coat check… With 400 tickets being sold, at $2 per coat, we could make $800!! We are pleased to announce the new turn that we have taken at our lovely Foodbank!!! We are encouraging the use of reusable bags, and asking clients to bring their old grocery bags in for their hamper days….trying to eliminate the purchase of new plastic bags altogether!!! We are already great recyclers!!! And, starting on February 1st, we are getting our compost bin from The City of Whitehorse’s Organics Collection Program for businesses!!!
